Creative Studios (Derby) contacted us with a requirement to install and style a specific (paid for) plugin that would allow their visitors to access special, members-only content.
Mark, a visual design software instructor provided us with clear visuals of the desired results which we don’t usually get from clients; an excellent bonus! The visuals were exactly how mark wanted the finished product, causing a few issues along the way for us.
The full process see’s a visitor able to choose from three special online courses when selecting the Online Courses page from the main site menu. We initially set the courses up at £3.50 each and £7.99 for all three, with a view to giving visitors the best option.
The process includes a payment gateway allowing visitors to become students with just a few clicks. The payment gateway uses PayPal as the primary method with a card option allowing visitors to pay with a bank card if they don’t have PayPal. There is also a manual override allowing for bank transfers and a coupon system for further discounts or freebies.
If a visitor wants to visit a restricted members page and hasn’t yet become a paid member they will receive a “Protected Content” splash page informing them of how they too can get this members only content.
The entire process covers over 10 (WordPress) page templates, for the three courses as well as hooking into the welcome emails sent out by default as well as PayPal.
